Hi Friends and family,
We are here in Grand Rapids on this bitter Sunday evening awaiting a "window" to escape to the southland. This is the site that you can follow in order to keep track of what the trip and the places along the way might be like.
We will add pictures, stories, geography (Jim's favorite) , and of course the bird life along the way.
Feel free if you wish to comment and add your thoughts , questions and feelings to the site.
As this is our first attempt to use this media, we will learn as we go along. We will be interested in your comments as well.
Here's hoping we can "Get Outta Dodge" this week.
Blessings,
Jim and Ruth

Good Luck. I hope you find a good window of opportunity and get to the sunny part of the country.
Thanks for the comments. You are ahead of us in this media, but we will catch on I am sure.
We WILL leave tomorrow as the weather is good at this poing. More coming behind it. All packed and the trailer is like an Iditarod sled dog at the Starting line .

I love the blog idea! Travel Safely, love, Tina
Have fun. Your plants and bird feeders are safe with me.
Hi Jim and Ruth,
Using a blog is a great idea! Godspeed you on your way, and I look forward to keeping up with all your travel experiences.
Oh wow! This is too high-tech for me, but I love it so far! Emily can help me if I get stuck! I hope and pray that you are now on the road and all is well! Have a safe and wonderful journey, and I'll look forward to getting on your blog often! Love, Cath
Safe travels! C U in 3 wks/1 day! Looking forward to the pics for the kids. :)
Hey Dad & Ruth,
Well,I've finally gotten some time to check out this blog. Great so far. Basketball is done. Nathan's team took 2nd in the tourney...not bad for being 5th of 6 during the season. Ella's doing Poms now...performed at OHHS on Friday...was fun. Gabe was asst coach for Nathan's team and received high praise. He had a Famine weekend Fr/Sa...collected food for the local pantry. We are well. Enjoying your trip blog and will hear from you soon. No school tomorrow for the kids...they don't know yet! Love ya, Mary
Jim and Ruth,
A gentle snow drifting falls faster and suddenly harder as I write. Yesterday was warmer, with melting and then freezing, leaving sidewalks slippery and the FUMC parking lot like a skating rink! I am waiting with anticipation to enjoy the warm weather via your blog! Yesterday's anthem was very moving, at least in the alto section (!). Not sure how it will sound on the web. I will miss seeing you tonight, Jim, at Stephen Ministers. Ruth, looking forward to some of your beautiful nature shots! Peace and Blessings, Tina
Hello,
