Trip Day 26, Wednesday May 19, 2021. Last day at Martinsville Indian Heritage RV Park First thing this AM the sun shined brightly and the sky was clear.

Today, as stated yesterday is Laundry Day. So after breakfast we gathered up the necessary clothes and towels, and found a laundry not too far away (6 miles). We have a very narrow but tall laundry basket and when standing it in the back of the truck to transport, it ofttimes falls over..IDEA! Bungee cord! There is a large hook just for that purpose in the back of the truck, and it does the job securing the basket snugly.

Upon arrival at the laundromat, Ruth had just opened the door to the first washer, when she said…”We are NOT doing our laundry here’ . It was not as bad as the one in British Columbia that we just walked out of. But, it was not clean at all. So we looked up the next closest one a few miles further. It was  to standard so we used that one. Reasonable as well at$2.95 per washer and .25 cents per 6 minutes on tghe washer.(quite the standard here) That took care of the laundry as Ruth took time to call her sister and catch up on her cataract surgery which came off good.

Lunch was served in the trailer with leftover Pizza and cole slaw from Captain Tom’s, and the Pizza Hut. Ruth has a standard cottage cheese and pineapple. There was one birding area that we had not been to, so we headed there. It was called Fisher Farm Park. Again it was a sports comp with much woods and a large pavilion, All the time there was with no one in the park but us all the time we were there. After many stops and only 4 birds we decided that 1:00 PM on a 75 F day was not the time to look for birds. (We knew that). We dd see many of the”usuals” both there and on the River at the trailer We can always see some there.

The Geese were there all day long.

This  evening will be Taco Salad out in the patio behind the trailer watching the birds go by. 75 F a slight SW breezy and sunny!

We did receive word that the Handbells will be ready on the 28th of May, so we made a call seeing if they could hold them until after our scheduled trip was completed (June 8th is the pick up date for us). They said that was agreeable, and we will not have to try to change any Camping days. We have 6 days at Staunton VA, 9 at Merry Meadow (Morris Farm) ,MD,,and 4 at a small park near YorkPA, and close to daughter Kathy’s place. We have not seen their new home and that will be a good sharing.

So tomorrow we drive through Roanoke to the Blue Ridge Highway to Staunton which is about 2/3 of the way north on the Blue Ridge Highway. May the day go well. We hope to spend some time in the Shenandoah National Park along with the usual birding. Temps will hit the 90’s “they” say See you in the mountains.
