There was an appointment today to check a needed repair on the truck, A very continuous vibration had been constant in the truck for a few days now. Possible sources were U joints tightening , pinion out of line (drive line) or other possibilities. So I had made an appointment at a local Toyota dealership to either fix the problem or find what could be the problem or ameliorate it.
The appointment was at one o’clock so we had time scope out the local Water purification system where often there are birds in or around the water if the ponds are open. We found that after stopping at the Waste Management station where a young man told us where the Water plant was.
We found it after passing by once, but did find a few birds . The man who checks the water process on weekends told us we would probably see more deer than birds. We did not.
Very near that was an old mill and river slide. We stopped there for a bit.
Then Ruth thought we might find a “D and W “ . We drove through Renfrew, which considering had the main street dug up and blocked to traffic allowed us to see most of the town that we had not intended to see. We continued through town and there was no “D and W”. But… at the east end of town where there was a McDonald’s and a KFC, was the orange and black sign of the “D and W”. We indulged and headed for the dealership appointment.
Lunch was eaten in the parking lot and we finally finished and went onto the dealership where it was cool for sure.
“Dan the Service Manager, came out and started to take information for the work. Getting the VIN # and my personal data ,the truck was in for the work.
Ruth and I used the Wi Fi there to catch up on the messages and notes.(The Wi-Fi in the KOA is only a”hotspot “ at the office.)
Work done , we received the report. There evidently had not been grease applied to the U joints and one had frozen up quite badly and need rust removed. That being done he recommended a new one, but had none on hand. I knew that I had to get a dealer to replace that one and will so when I get a 5 day overnight she three days hence.
We ended the day by driving that same road , called Garden of Eden Rd., and found more birds including the PILEATED WOODPECKER, some EASTERN KINGBIRDS, a YELLOW BREASTED FLYCATCHER, and two BALTIMORE ORIOLES.( And others)
