Day 121 Wednesday August 1, 2018, Sturgeon Falls Ont. Laundry, Bank, Bakery, and down time.

Yes, it was that day for getting the "necessaries"done.  Getting Canadian money was first on the agenda and Sturgeon Falls has four banks and we selected this one to do the money excnage.  Our $210.00 (US), bought us sone $265.00 (CA) which incuded a $7.00 fee.

Banque Nationale in Sturgeon Falls.
Then it was the Laudromat where a 5X load cost $5.00 (CA) as opposed to the regular one of $4.00. As there are many French speaking folks here this place seemed appropriatey named. I have never seen so many poeple go into the "back room" at a laundromat  as they all seemed to know the owner and had business with her. (Numbers racket? HA!) Just friendly people.

Very busy,  great washers and dryers and a friendly atmosphere all around.

I sneaked out to get some baked goods as I could smell the bakery aroma all the way to the laundromat. I think we should go back there again!

A not so good photo of the Boulangerie (Bakery) Got two Fritters ,one blueberry filled,
That was the morning tour except that I had some paper and plastic bags that I wanted to donate to a
food bank or places that would use them. I had heard that a local church has a food bank each week, but could not find any sign there indicting that.   But, across the street there was an Adult Care Center for the Mentally Disabled. A gal there directed me to the proper church.  It was not open so another time perhaps?

The rest of the day  (2:00 on), was spent in the trailer and talking with neighbors. That's a good way to learn about the area especially of they are permanent or long termers. Many in the park live within 50 miles and stay here in the summer until its time to do the laundry. They live in their home during the winter as it is cold here. The Sturgeon River Freezes over! Speaking of which here it is with some folks fron Denmark enjoying the water.

A few feet from out camping site is the Sturgeon River
Here are the Danes enjoying the day.

Dad is in, C'mon all of you".

"Here I come".
Finally, here is our campsite in the park.  It is a KOA, well run and quiet.

If you look below the open camp sites, we are in the first row of trees.

A close up shows our trailer and truck.
See you tomorrow!  We hope to see more birds and they were not seen today.
