Day 103, Saturday July 14. 2018, USA's cleanest Laundramat! Mississippi River. Bemidji State Park

Sometimes we luck out pretty good.  Getting the laundry accomplished is seldom a "looked forward to" task. Today it had a special glow to it  as the Laundromat in South Bemidji  was top notch. The "Maytag" laundry , across from Bemidji Lake was the best. Tammi the owner and manager, was right on top of things in the laundry area. They also do "drop offs" and have a clientele of "pick ups"where they drive out to campsites and tourist spots (motels)  and pick up the laundry  to wash.  After each customer finishes with a load , she checks the washers for debris, and wipes the washer as well as opening the door (dries it out) and picks up any leftovers . The floors were immaculate and the "waiting area" had many round tables with padded chairs and other attractions if needed. (Game machines, a TV and snack machines as well). But, it was clean ,clean, clean. Great work there at Maytag Laundry in Bemidji.

We made a quick stop to Walgreen to pick up a 'script that we ordered. Tough to keep up with the 'scripts when you are on the road six months or so. We also dropped by the UMC church on the way to the trailer to check out the Sunday schedule as it didn't match the one on the computer. (Churches need to be aware of those summer schedules to make sure it is posted currently.)

I talked Ruth into a morning DQ on the way home and that was her lunch (Her choice).

After lunch I took time to move the bird feeders forward away from the overhanging trees.  That seemed to work, as at supper time,  two Ruby Throated Humming birds stopped by a few times. Exciting!

The afternoon was a trip to Bemidji State Park. We had birded there before a few years ago earlier in the year.It was quite different at this time with many campers (full) and few birds. It was the heat of the day and we know that afternoon activity of the birds becomes almost non existent.  We saw a few but nothing out of the ordinary. Three loops around the campgrounds convinced us of that.

Another exciting event was crossing the Mississippi River  across the lake from town. It is ...well, here are a few photos of it from the truck.

That was it for the day. It is Friday night in the campground and there is a band playing on the grounds , so we will have music probably until 10:00 or so.  Tomorrow we will attend church and make a drive to an Arboretum in the SW of the county. Suppose to get some rain, but we will see. It is 87 F at this time (7:15 CDT)
