Day 92,Tuesday July 3,2018--Got that oil changed. Lewis and Clark State Park, ND

Lewis and Clark, Yes they traveled through this country of North Dakota in 1804 and again in 1805 on the return when Lewis was shot by one of his men, mistaking him for an an Elk while huntig, That's why we wear red or orange today when hunting!

I was able to get right into the Quick Lube first thing this morning as that is their slow time. I was pleasantly surprised when one of the gals met me at the door and promptly gave me all the information I would need to know and proceeded to take charge of the oil change. Not that a woman couldn't do that ,but there were three women in this business and they were in charge. I was also very well pleased when I found out that not only did they do a complete job with the car inspection, but washed all the windows and vacuumed the floor mats and floors of the truck.I have NEVER heard of any lube place doing that. They might be one, but it was a first for me.  Maddy, Patricia and the boys did a great job. The air filter replacement cost as much as the lube and oil change. It was good to change the air filter after 10,000 miles.

We had packed our laundry to do on the way back form our drive to find the birds so we were ready for that in the afternoon.

The drive today took us south and east ,but not across the Missouri River ,but along the shores of lake Sacajawea which was made from the damming of the Missouri in eastern North Dakota. Garrison Dam. If this lake is the third largest man made lake in the USA ,do you know the names of the other two?

It is 175 miles long at its longest point and 155 feet deep.and displaced three native American towns which were re-established.  Those were members of the Fort Berthold Indian reservation. The Garrison Dam (the end of Lake Sacajawea)is on that reservation.

Enjoy the photos of the day and some of the 30 birds and sights we saw.
